The Hashmanis Foundation introduces cleft palate and cleft lip surgery in Plastic Surgery Department. Not only this but numerous children have been treated with cleft palate and cleft lip defect till date and still aim to serve more. We perform surgeries on underprivileged infants and toddlers, we provide post-surgery assistance and medicines free of cost.

Thousands of children are susceptible to various eye diseases and are born with eye related issues. Such condition plunges the future of the young generation into darkness. Hashmanis has become a ray of hope for many children and is one of the few centers in Pakistan paying special attention to ophthalmic needs of children from infancy till adolescence for free. Our division is well equipped with state of the art technology and professional doctors.

Blindness has been the biggest treat to people in underdeveloped countries. Very little attention is paid towards the eradication of blindness. Infection, injury, certain eye diseases, malnutrition, iatrogenic diseases, and trauma can lead to Corneal Opacity. People who have met with any kind of accident in industries, agricultural activities, and during sports are likely to develop corneal opacity. It’s a communicable disease as well. The procedure to rectify Corneal Opacity is known as Oculoplastic Surgery and Hashmanis Medical welfare Foundation possesses the prominent professional ophthalmologists and Plastic Surgeons who treat the patients without charging a penny.

Pakistan has over 2 Million Glaucoma patients, half of these patients have lost their vision, permanently due to delay in diagnosis and treatment. For Glaucoma medicines and treatments are very costly and beyond the reach of a common man. But with the help of Hashmanis Medical Welfare Foundation, we perform these surgeries free of cost.

A large number of people in Pakistan experience a permanent vision loss ever year, due to Retinal diseases. They are recorded as the Second most common factor of blindness after Cataract. Retinal diseases spreads at an alarming rate in Pakistan and it severely damages parts of the retina with no warning at all. Unawareness, unaffordability and unavailability of proper surgical tools are the leading cause of increasing cases in Pakistan.

In Pakistan, due to Cataract, yearly around 570,000 adults lose their vision. At Hashmanis Medical Welfare Foundation, hundreds of free medical camps are organized every year. These camps are setup for those who can’t afford basic health facilities. With the support of our foundation we organize several medical camps, targeting different locations every month, where thousands of Cataract patients get treatment free of cost.

Since the beginning, our goal has been to develop services that significantly improve the lives of as many people as possible and in order to achieve this goal, Hashmanis Medical Welfare Foundation, World Memon Organization have joined hands with Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society (A Government approved charity organization), to make Corneal Transplant Surgery accessible to the needy patients in Pakistan. The surgery costs around Rs 200,000 regardless of where they are. This initiative underprivileged patients can now restore their vision free of cost and have a chance to live a perfectly normal life.

We aim to expand our services towards human resources development. To achieve this end we aim to expand our North Karachi Branch into a tertiary Care Hospital in the next 02 years. Expansion of the North Karachi Hospital (7500 sq. Feet)

Keratoconus is a disease that causes tinning and bulging of the cornea. The cornea gradually turns into a cone – like shape. Any distortion in cornea leads to a distorted image projected onto the retina. Patients with Keratoconus are vulnerable to near sightedness and astigmatism that is not correctable with glasses. According to a recent study, one in 100 people in Pakistan is suffering from Keratoconus. Due to lack of information and guidance Keratoconus is becoming a leading cause of increasing cases of blindness in Pakistan. Here at Hashmanis Group of Hospitals, people with Keratoconus disease come and get it treated by our professional doctors. To this day, a large number of people have been treated successfully.

The Hashmanis Foundation aims to develop research and development culture in Pakistan. To execute this purpose Hashmanis Foundation is planning to launch its first and one of a kind Mobile Eye Screening Service. A specially designed Van equipped with state of the art equipments and a trained ream of professionals will gather the data from remote areas through different eye screening processes, initially, the van will gather the data from every district of Sindh and will later move on to other provinces of Pakistan.

Pakistan has the third highest population of blind and visually impaired individuals in the world. Where over 37 % of the population is miope & 6 % to 7 % are high myopia. Currently the focus of charity in Pakistan is on Cataract & Glaucoma which occurs mostly at the age of 50 to 60 years. Refractive issue are very common in the working class from 18 to 40 years. Hashmanis is the only Hospital in the world performing Free LASIK surgeries to underprivileged.
